Our renovated beach cottage is centered around the open-plan living area in the heart of the house. Starting with a fully kitted out kitchen featuring an oven, hobs, microwave, and even a coffee machine with Nespresso pods. Whether you're a seasoned chef or just want to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, we've got you covered. The living and dining area flow from the kitchen and have a spacious sofa, a TV with Netflix and an electric fireplace for a cosy atmosphere on the chilly nights. The heat pump provides extra heating during winter or can serve as air conditioning when it gets hot during summer. The two queen bedrooms are accessed from the main living area and are fitted with crisp commercial quality linen for a restful night's sleep (and hopefully a sleep in!), while the third bedroom is located down the corridor and has two single beds, perfect for families or friends traveling together. Within the main bathroom you will find the toilet, basin, rainfall shower, heated towel rail and a washer/dryer and at the end of the corridor there is a "half bathroom" with an additional toilet. Step outside onto the balcony in the evenings and experience breathtaking sunsets that paint the sky over the street, or head out to the patio area where the festoon lighting and outdoor furniture are perfect for al fresco dining during the warmer months. All linen, towels and shampoo + conditioner are provided, and we have Netflix, Neon and Freeview on the TV for your viewing entertainment! If you are looking for additional space for an extra two people, consider our sister property "Waikanae Beach Escape" which is just located over the fence!

Although the main rule is to relax and enjoy yourself - there are a few "housekeeping" notes we should point out! 1. Please remember that you will be contacted by third party provider "Superhog" to complete ID verification and a make a damage protection option. This will either be a $33.00NZD damage waiver, or an authorisation on your credit card. 2. We LOVE animals, and know how hard it is to leave home without your fur babies. So if you are like us, and you love bringing your pup away with you on vacation, please keep in mind the following: - Let us know when you are bringing your dog along - Please bring a bowl and bedding for them (and please keep their wee paws off the furniture) - All toilet visits should be outside, please pick up after them! -If any damage or accidents occur during your stay please let us know ASAP - You can bring one dog of any size - take note that our property is not fenced, so you will need to keep fido on a leash while outside 3. This is an obvious one - but absolutely no smoking and/or illegal drug use inside the bach. 4. No parties or events please! 5. Please respect the privacy of the guests staying in Waikanae Beach Escape and do not enter that side of the fence 6. We cannot accept bookings of more than 28 nights at a time 7. Finally, please respect and take care of Waikanae Beach Abode so it can carry on creating relaxing and memorable getaways for guests for years to come!

Important: Before you arrive you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Superhog. This is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. Superhog will contact you via email and/or text to complete the verification. Please do so prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process. You will also be given the choice between a security deposit or a non-refundable damage waiver. If you select damage waiver, you will also be asked to purchase a damage waiver of $33.00 via third party provider Superhog, which will protect you in case of accidental damage of up to $600 NZD during your stay. If you select damage deposit, you will be asked to authorize a damage deposit for up to $600 via third party provider Superhog in case of accidental damage during your stay. This will include a small services fee of 2% of the deposit. Superhog is committed to keeping your data safe and secure. They consistently review their security protocols to ensure compliance with the highest industry and global standards in data handling. They will never sell your information to a third party. Your access to Waikanae Beach Abode will be with a unique code for the smart lock, you will receive your door code at 9AM on the morning of your reservation start date you can then proceed at your leisure and check yourself in at any time that suits you from 4PM!
